[LVPD] Chief of Police

Today myself and 3 other PD members finally caught up with someone who we had been after for a while, his crimes adding up of course with a large fine. There was just one problem and that was the jail fine amount, the maximum level currently set is 10k which is very very low.

His crimes were already at 65k due to the crimes he had committed with the fines stacking up along with the time, this really is a let down because we put so much work into catching someone then as a punishment they loose what 3 paychecks worth of cash. I think that the limit for a fine should be like 100,000$ which in my eyes is fair, then with regards to the time we can imprison them its a maximum of 60 minutes which is also a very low time.

If we really want to punish the people we arrest the time should be able to go over 1 hour I'd say have the maximum time 10 hours. With the current system it holds the PD back as we cant really punish people for the crimes so there is no real deterrence.

Lastly is the crimes system its rubbish in simplistic terms, we have the commands /recordcrime ID Offense but we can only add a max of 6 to every person. Once they have been recorded for 6 different things then it wont let you add anymore at all, the problem with this is that the only way to then add a crime is to wipe their record. This then brings the problem of a criminal record check which would be clear for an OOC reason when it should really be recorded.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that the PD system we currently have needs to be scrapped and reformed totally as its not practical for us to use.
**Most of the active PD members have supported this and also suggested it!**

Another thing which has been brought up by the current PD members is the lack of a wanted/APB system, I must say I do agree with them fully. It really would help PD if we had a /apb command to add remove and edit APB's/warrants for wanted suspects, we would then be able to keep track of the suspects.

I agree with both. All biased opinions aside, if some one is screwing with the cops for days, and they get caught and only get imprisoned for an hour, it's pretty messed up. Everyone know they'll do the same thing when they are released. Now, maybe a day in there could create some roleplay, and they'd stop playing Mr. Crime boss for a sec.

Exactly, Now if we had an apb and record system, we would be able to effectively jail people.

For now just role play it with some OOC agreements with the offender. Wink We're working on it.
